Stand-Up Comedy


In this course, you will get to know the comedy business, the art of making jokes, and playing with an audience to make them laugh. With Carlos's guidance, students will build a short stand up set and have the opportunity to perform said set on a TKP Virtual Open Mic.



    INSTRUCTOR: Carlos Garcia

    DATES AND TIMES: 2 days a week (Saturdays from 11AM-12:30PM and Wednesdays from 5:30-7pm, and ) for 5 weeks.
    START DATES: Saturday, April 17 and Wednesday, April 21

    END DATES: Saturday, May 15 and Wednesday, May 19 for Open Mic Night.

    Access to a computer, headphones and internet. All assignments can be accomplished with a smart phone.


    Carlos Garcia, is a comedian/actor and the co-host of his regular podcast show, the FratChat Podcast. Prior to the COVID-19 shutdown, Carlos also hosted a weekly comedy show "The Greatest Comedy Show of All Time" at the Broadway Comedy Club. He likes creating characters, as well as making up and trying out jokes or comedic bits for stand up comedy gigs at clubs across the United States. Originally from Venezuela, Carlos was educated in the USA and also formerly served as PR rep for other artists.
